Ad Hoc Reporting via SQL Reporting Services Service desk personnel using c.Support v6.0 will find great value using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) to perform ad hoc reporting. SSRS will be a supplemental reporting tool to the Business Object® Crystal Reporting Services that also ships with c.Support, but will replace the Crystal services altogether within 12-18 months. SSRS features will free users from combing through database schema to identify database tables and defining their connections by delivering new c.Support report models that will present all available data fields in clear, concise lists. Needed fields can be drag-and-dropped onto a WYSIWYG report platform via an intuitive report builder feature and a new web-enabled report can be authored within minutes. Or a previously created report can be managed and pushed throughout the enterprise with automated generation and subscription delivery capabilities. Once inside SSRS an explorer pane appears on the left of the screen with the entities (related fields) in the selected data model. Accurate, timely reports can be created, dispersed, or automated quickly and efficiently.
You can also view the reports you create via the Dashboard on the c.Support Desktop. You can access Report Builder via the c.Support Desktop Selection menu to create ad-hoc reports. Access to this option is controlled by the Report Viewer permission.
