Suffolk Legal Shortlisted for Government Computing Award in Shared Service Category

These Independent Awards illustrate the UK 's most effective services, improving the way business is done within councils, central government and other public sector organisations.

This year's finalists have been chosen from among the record 527 nominations that were submitted by senior professionals working across the public sector. 

This short listing follows on from Suffolk Legal scooping a major award in October 2007 when they won the Shared Services Award at the 2007 Public Servants of the Year Awards ceremony in London . This was for the Doing Business Better Project – a joint initiative between county, borough and district councils in Suffolk .

This was quickly followed by Legalease, publisher of Legal Technology Journal, Legal Business and the Legal 500 series, awarding Suffolk Legal the ‘In House Legal Department Initiative of the Year Award’ early in 2008.    In the judges opinion the bid for this award by Suffolk Councils was so outstanding that, for the first time ever, they nominated them as outright winner in this category and did not shortlist any other applications for this award.
