Legal Technology Awards 2008
Suffolk County Council Legal Department Short Listed for “In House Legal Department Award” January 2008
Legalease, publisher of Legal Technology Journal, Legal Business and the Legal 500 series, is delighted to announce the launch of the third annual Legal Technology Awards. Out of 160 separate nominations this year Suffolk County Council has been short listed in the “In House Legal Department” category. The Legal Technology Awards recognise and celebrate excellence in the provision and implementation of technology solutions for the benefit of legal practice.
Today's law firm is a 24/7 commercial organisation, responding to its clients' demands and their expectation of instant access to legal advice and exemplary service. Without the continued advances in legal technology, law firms would not be able to offer their clients the immediate access to the precise, up-to-date information they require. The same is true of in-house legal departments, committed to quality service in their organisations. The efficiencies gained by ever-improving systems and services underpin the drive for profitability of today's commercial law firms.
The Legal Technology Awards are dedicated to the strategic implementation of technology within law firms and in-house legal departments, recognising the success of the firms and vendors, clients and suppliers, who are at the cutting edge of this continuously developing area of business.
This short listing follows on from Suffolk C.C. scooping a major award in October when they won the Shared Services award at the 2007 Public Servants of the Year Awards ceremony in London. This was for the Doing Business Better Project – a joint initiative between county, borough and district councils in Suffolk. The project beat off tough competition to win the accolade in the contest organised by Public Finance magazine and backed by the Cabinet Office. The winners of the Legal Technology Awards will be announced on the 31st January 2008 at the Awards Ceremony in London. www.legaltechnologyawards.co.uk Tricostar are delighted that Suffolk Councils have been nominated for this very prestigious award and are proud to have supplied Timebase Case Management as the technology backbone and application to Suffolk Councils.
